People Photography @ The 46th Chennai Photo Walk (Nov ’11)
It’s been quite a while I was thinking about joining one of the photo walks organized by ‘The Chennai Photo Walk’. Time came for me to join them for the latest one organized today from Dare House to Clive Battery. The turn out was good and almost 25 people joined the walk. Started from Dare House around 6.45 AM. There were few first timers like me and we all stuck together for sometime. Later divided into groups and people walking at their own pace, taking photographs at will. There were few hindrances too as people started questioning about our intentions of taking photographs. But we continued our walk wading through lanes around Mannady. Overall it’s a good experience and love to do it again.
Now let me share some photographs taken during the walk, concentrating on peoples.
Though I reside close to this place, I was not able to go there for the past 6 months. I have been waiting to visit a place where I can shoot some macros using my extension tube. My new D7000 seems to combine well with the extension tube. So, decided to visit the Annanagar Tower Park, last Saturday and managed to take few shots of Dragon Fly swallowing its prey. It’s a difficult subject to shoot as it easily mingled with the green leaves.

Sky Watch – Night Shots @ Chennai Bypass (May ’11)
It’s been quite a while that I went out for a photo shoot. So, decided to checkout Maduravoyal-Tambaram bypass where there is a possibility of shooting sunset. But I started bit late and missed out the sunset, then thought of checking out points along the road where I can capture sunset shots. Got a very good point mid way between Tambaram & Porur. Sun was already down and had to use a bit of high ISO and hence the pictures are little bit noisy. Shot couple of night shots as well @ Porur & Maduravoyal junction.
After fixing this error in my Nikon D60, on my own with the help of WD 40 & a tiny screw driver, I wanted to test drive the camera. So, went to Marina beach this morning and shot photographs for an hour. Sharing some of the photographs taken during the early morning visit.
This photographs were taken during my visit to Chennai earlier this year. I would like to roam around the city during night time and you would get a lot of photographing opportunities. Particularly if you are interested in Night Photography and test your skills on Manual settings. Here are the few click where I tested my skills and all the photographs were taken handheld and that’s the reason for minimal exposure.
